How we verify
Every localized function name, argument name and separator comes from a primary published source — never translated by an AI, never guessed, never scraped from other translator sites. The dataset is the product, so its trustworthiness is the point.
Sources
- Microsoft Support — the per-function pages and the "Excel functions (alphabetical)" list, in each language.
- LibreOffice (MPL-2.0) — the project's translation files; shown as the LibreOffice column.
- Google Docs Editors Help — the Google Sheets function list; shown as the Sheets column.
- Argument and list separators are seeded from Unicode CLDR and cross-confirmed against Microsoft's localized syntax.
Cross-checks
Each name is resolved by consensus across six surfaces — the Microsoft syntax, page title and examples, the alphabetical list, LibreOffice and Google Sheets. A name backed by no other surface is flagged for review, never published silently. And every translated formula is round-trip checked: converting it back to its source language must reproduce the original.
What isn't covered yet
Array-constant row/column separators and localized error values vary by locale and Excel version and aren't available from our sources yet, so they're flagged rather than guessed. The combined "IS functions" page (ISBLANK, ISERROR) is a known gap. Each function page shows its last-verified date.
